It can’t be just me that’s…dare I say it…ready for fall? Ok, maybe not 100% ready but I am already thinking fall for the shop:) This weekend I’m heading to the NYC gift show to search for new treasures for l&v. Have any ideas or requests? Let me know; I’d love to know what you guys are looking for!
In the meantime we have brought on a few additions to the shop recently that we are excited about. So stop by, soak up some air conditioning and don’t forget to check out our 50% off table that we are always adding items to!

Mother’s Day is such a cool holiday because not only do we get to celebrate our moms, but also our sisters, aunts, cousins, mother-in-laws & friends that are moms. Let’s face it, being a mom has to be the hardest job in the world. I am always so awestruck by those who make it look easy. I have a dog and a cat and I can barely remember to feed them everyday….so there’s that.
Here’s to you moms everywhere. The mom’s with toddlers we see out to dinner not able to eat a single morsel because their little one is having a breakdown. The mom’s we see at Whole Foods at 9pm because they had no other time in their day to get groceries. The mom’s who have teenagers – (shout out to my sister whose little one has senioritis right now (“a supposed affliction of students in their final year of high school or college, characterized by a decline in motivation or performance.”) I’m not sure my sister has slept through a night since her teenager got his license!
And finally to my mom. This year has been a tough one, filled with hospitals, rehab stays and far too many doctors visits. All through it she’s been a trooper. Like the energizer bunny she keeps on going (just a lot slower than before) and leads by example. She always taught us that whatever the challenge we face we face head on with grace and humor. And wine. Cannot forget about the wine.
Happy Mother’s Day to all!

This coming weekend we are so ready for a BIG celebration here in Boston! Marathon weekend is near and dear to our hearts here in Beantown and I couldn’t be more proud of my friends who are running this year! While I’ve been binge watching Love on Netflix and eating all sorts of crap this winter, there are plenty of people who have been training hard to run 26.2 miles. All at once mind you:)
This weekend also reminds us that spring is, in fact here; it just doesn’t feel like it. The sun is setting later, the snow is sort of gone and it’s time to think about our 1 YEAR Anniversary party! Mark your calendars for Sunday, April 29th. We’ll celebrate the occasion with yummy treats, special discounts and a fun raffle to thank you all for your support this year!
So if you’re in Boston for the weekend stop by the North End to experience some fun and eclectic shopping (can you say no big box stores?) and amazing food of course (PASTA!) – And to my runner friends I say YOU GOT THIS!!! I’ll be there cheering you on as loud as I can. I may not be able to run 26.2 but I have been known for being an amazing cheerleader!!!
We’re pretty excited about this spring…why? Warmer weather, more sunshine, flowers blooming and our 1 year anniversary is only 6 weeks away! We’ll be celebrating all of April with specials, deals and giveaways throughout the month!
We also can’t wait to showcase our new treasures that we’ve been getting in everyday. So much fun when the UPS or Fed Ex drivers show up with big boxes…especially because they usually bring treats for Zephyr too!
So if you haven’t joined our mailing list, go for it and you’ll be in the loop for when we have a private sale and other special treats!
Spring is coming! Hallelujah. This morning we took a trip to the Flower Exchange and got a much-needed reminder that flowers are still blooming somewhere! We just need to get through 52 more days of winter. How do we do that?
We asked some of our lovely, local customers just this question…
How do you get through the Winter Blahs?
“I try out new winter inspired recipes like a hearty stew or big pasta dish. Then I cozy up under a blankey and watch corny tv. 😂”
“A good work out and a warm cup of soup and always making sure I have something to look forward too!”
“A good yoga class at North End Yoga. It might take effort to get myself there, but once I’m there I feel so much better about everything!”
“Light. Hot cocoa with whipped cream. A bunch of flowers. A walk. Sunshine. Good music.”
“Exercise. Getting to the gym nearly kills me but leaving the gym after a great workout is absolutely the greatest feeling. Nothing like some good old fashion retail therapy. Often in winter I paint a room, pick up a project like glazing a table or something to make me feel like my house is looking more fresh. Fresh flowers, bulbs growing in my kitchen, lots of gin and tonic’s and pretending it is spring time. Getting a new tv series will take my mind off how much I don’t love the winter!”
“Warm baths with lush bath bombs. A man in my bed.”
Ok, well that’s our Pg-13 version of what might help:)
You can always come in and try our new line of @soymuchbrighter candles and new diffusers from @notedcandles…the lovely scent will bring some much needed warmth to any room!
