Holiday Gift Guide - Part 1

Holiday Gift Guide - Part 1

The holiday season is around the corner, and it seems like all of Boston is hustling and bustling from now through the end of the year. Work gets crazy (and we can’t start saying “let’s punt this conversation to 2024” just yet). Everyone is travelling around to see family, and then to top it all off, it’s time for GIFT SHOPPING!

Finding gifts for friends and family is one of my favorite parts about the holiday season, but there is always a person or two on my list that is just hard to shop for. In those instances, gift guides have been really helpful. And that is what we have here… from Barbie Girls to Boston Bros, we’ve got you covered!

We’d be lying if we said we weren’t still in our Barbie era…

• Barbie Tree Ornaments

• Barbie & Ken Prayer Candles

• Barbie Vinyl Stickers

• Pink Scalloped Hoop Earrings

• Pink Bracelets

• Barbie Hotel Style Keychain

• “Feel Good” Journal Prompt Cards

• “A Little Bit of Mindfulness” Book

Holidays are Coming...

Holidays are Coming...

October kicks off the most festive months of the year- starting with Halloween, it always feels like we quickly stumble onto Thanksgiving and then snowball through Christmas, Hanukkah, and New Years.

Many elements of Halloween festivities tie into a quintessential New England fall experience, and the spooky vibes are even stronger here where we are fair proximity to Salem. From tea towels to decorative pillows to beaded clutches, Loft & Vine has many adorable pumpkin-themed products available at the shop.

In addition to Halloween, Loft & Vine also has Day of the Dead (or Dia de los Muertos) decor. Falling on November 1st, this holiday within Mexican culture celebrates ancestors on All Souls Day. The brightly colored skulls associated with the holiday are a key element of the celebration. There are many unique Day of the Dead decorations at the shop, make sure to pop in and take a look! You might not realize how much your living room could use a little Elvis themed skeleton figurine until you see it!

Cozy Autumn

Cozy Autumn

Autumn is here, and we all know that there is no better place to experience it than in New England. It’s officially sweater weather, and Loft & Vine has so many great new products that feel like a big warm hug. As an autumn enthusiast myself, I believe there is a recipe to setting the perfect cozy vibe: seasonal scents, warm layers, and a playlist that has a healthy mix of Ed Sheeran, Noah Kahan, and Taylor Swift. Leaves are falling down like pieces into place, after all.

Flannel is the fabric of fall, and Sarah has everything from scarves to dog toys available in the cozy textile. She also has some beautiful Italian throws, which are perfect for keeping the vibes up (and heating bills down).

As for scents, my roommate and I especially love lighting candles that small like chai and pumpkin spices. The shop has so many great fall scents in candles as well as botanical soaps, so your self-care Sundays can be seasonal, too. Run in and pick up some goodies to make the most of this season!

Neighborhood Charm

Neighborhood Charm

If you’ve been to Loft & Vine, then you’ve been to the North End! Most of the Loft & Vine crew live in the neighborhood, some longer than others but we all love to call it home.

While it has only been a year since I moved to the North End, I feel right at home here. I grew up in an Italian-American family that eats pasta every Sunday, and experiencing things like the Feasts this August has made me feel closer to my heritage.

Beyond the initial things that drew me (the walkability, the Italian history, the food!!!), I quickly came to love how much of a community there is here. Running into friends (fellow post-grad North End transplants) on the corner while also meeting residents in local businesses, churches, and cafés that have lived here for decades has been a really special experience.

I’ve run into Loft & Vine on several occasions to pick out gifts for friends who are new to the neighborhood, as well as coworkers who lived here years ago that have since moved to the suburbs and ask me to share stories so that they can live “vicariously”. My go-to gift has been the North End Stemless Wine Glass, which also comes in a Boston variation as well as in Champagne Flutes. I’ve also had my eye on the Apolis North End and Boston tote bags, they are really cute and are perfect for a day of running errands! The shop also has a great selection of coasters, keychains, ornaments and other needle-point “Entering North End” products from Smathers & Branson.

Whether a visitor is shopping for a souvenir or a current resident is looking for an 02113 keychain to bring to their home a few doors down, there is a little piece of neighborhood charm for everyone at Loft & Vine!

Hello Barbie, Loft & Vine has Joined the Party!

Even if you haven’t seen it yet, there’s no doubt that you’ve heard about the Barbie blockbuster movie… and coming along with it, the #BarbieCore trend that has made its way across fashion, home décor, and even cocktails! Essentially every facet of our reality that can be curated to match the Barbie World aesthetic has been, and we are here for it!

The community had been finding lots of fun ways to celebrate. My roommate and I visited Good Taste Records for their special vinyl listening session of “Barbie: The Album” ahead of its official release. So fun celebrating the music of the movie!

Summer Saturday in Boston

Summer Saturday in Boston

Welcome back to the Loft & Vine blog!

I’m sharing some fun things I did around the North End and other areas of Boston with a few friends... what are weekends for, if not brunch and shopping?

I started the morning with brunch down on Salem St. (just a hop and a skip away from the shop) at Wicked Craft Co. The food was amazing, and they had lots of fun drinks. Perfect spot if you’re looking for a high-energy atmosphere with a bumping early 2000s playlist!

After brunch, we visited shops throughout the North End that were hosting a celebration of summer with raffles and special promotions. Loft & Vine was giving away delicious Southie Cookies with every purchase, and the most adorable flower bouquets from Bubbly-n -Blooms! This inspired me to opt for an outfit with bright colors, specifically the trending “Barbie Pink” shade. Sarah has the cutest beaded handbags by Tiana NY in the shop and I brought along a floral one that matched my dress perfectly! It was the perfect size for having my necessities on me through the day (phone, wallet, lipstick, sunglasses, etc.) without adding any bulk. My friend loved it so much when she saw it at brunch that she went and bought one for herself!

Later on, we headed over to Seaport to make custom perfumes at the Ol Factory pop-up which was lots of fun! We wrapped up the afternoon with a walk through Christopher Columbus Park, one of my favorite spots in the area. Stay tuned for more to come on the blog soon!

Blog Takeover!

Blog Takeover!

June 2023

If you know Loft & Vine, you know Sarah. And if you know Sarah, you know that her shop is amazing, and that she is crazy busy! Too busy for some things, like blogging.

Annnnnddd that’s where I come in- Hi! I’m Lindsay. Consider me your resident North End girl-next-door (…. to Loft & Vine, like literally). Living in the best area of Boston (Me? Bias? Never….) means being lucky enough to be steps away from amazing shops, restaurants, and bakeries. I love it, but my wallet? Not so much.

Outside of my normal day job, (LinkedIn here, not wasting airtime) I’ve been doing product photography for Sarah. If you poke around on the site, you’ll see some photos of the shop’s great selection. Poke around long enough, and odds are you’ll also buy something. So keep on keepin’ on!! And come back here soon where we’ll be sharing lots more about Loft & Vine and life in the North End!

And just like that...

And just like that...

October 16th. Every year I say the same thing. How could summer have flown by so quickly? But here we are with the leaves turning and the air getting chilly. Tourists are coming in the shop excited to ask questions about their visit. Like....is it always this beautiful here?

Halloween is fast approaching and I can't wait to see the neighborhood kids dressed up in their costumes. Oh, and the dogs too for the annual parade. We'll be here with candy and treats for all. This year we've decided to do a "best costume" award for the kids AND the pooches. So stop by anytime between 4-6pm on Halloween and you could win!

In the meantime, we're excited to show you some of our new products that we just got in.
